Then why should I create an account?
Boethius is now free, but might not be free forever. Our intent (this is an intent, not a promise) is to offer Boethius free “forever” (by “forever” we mean “for as long as we can without shooting ourselves in the foot”) to early users. Only by creating an account will we know that you are an early user. So, if you want to get future versions/downloads of Boethius for free, you should create an account.
If I create an account, will you do annoying stuff with my contact information?
We will probably email you sparingly (maybe once a month?) to let you know about updates and new products — and only if you tick the box asking for it when you sign up. We won't sell your data to anyone.

The installers are still being built. In the meantime the synth runs in full on the front page — same engine, same panel, nothing to install.
